Experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Company Overview Continental Psychiatric Services, P.C. provides comprehensive treatment for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. Our team is committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and high-quality patient care. Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist for a part-time, fully on-site position. The ideal candidate must have extensive hands-on experience managing the complete medical billing cycle, including claim submission, payment posting, claim corrections, denials, appeals, insurance follow-up, and collections. This is an experienced-level position. It is not intended for recent graduates or candidates whose experience is limited to coursework, internships, or certification programs. Responsibilities Manage the complete medical billing cycle independently. Review provider documentation and assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes. Submit claims accurately and within required timeframes. Identify and correct claim errors and resubmit rejected claims. Investigate denials and prepare corrections or appeals. Post insurance and patient payments accurately. Follow up on unpaid, underpaid, or delayed claims. Review accounts receivable and resolve outstanding balances. Verify insurance benefits and patient eligibility when necessary. Manage insurance and patient collections. Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment issues. Communicate with providers regarding incomplete or missing documentation. Maintain accurate and organized billing records. Comply with HIPAA requirements and patient-confidentiality standards. Stay current with payer requirements, coding guidelines, and billing regulations. Perform other billing-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications A minimum of three years of recent, hands-on medical billing experience is required. Experience must be verifiable through previous employment and professional references. Candidates must provide professional references who can confirm their medical billing responsibilities and experience. Extensive experience using medical billing and practice-management software is required. Strong working knowledge of
