Southern Design Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant in Alpharetta, GA to manage our revenue cycle, support field operations, and ensure high-standard financial administration. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Revenue Cycle & Financial Operations Manage the full-cycle project revenue process: create sales orders, issue client progress invoices, process incoming payments/checks, and maintain active collections. Input, process, and audit sales orders and billing data within QuickBooks and project management platforms. Monitor project accounts for accuracy, billing timeliness, and resolution of payment discrepancies. Field Operations & Customer Coordination Serve as the administrative link between field project managers and corporate accounting to verify project scope, job costs, and scheduling updates. Communicate scheduling, logistics, and billing details directly with customers, proactively resolving operational or administrative issues. Organize, maintain, and audit centralized digital customer project files to guarantee data integrity. Workflow Optimization & Administrative Support Maintain structured, efficient workflows across multiple digital and enterprise software platforms. Coordinate cross-functional data retrieval between sales, estimating, field staff, and executive leadership. Execute additional financial and operational accounting duties as assigned by leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLSRequired Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required (Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred).
Software Proficiency:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, formatting, basic functions) and general digital platform fluency.
Soft Skills:
High level of punctuality, dependability, attention to detail, and a positive, team-first attitude.
Communication:
Clear, professional written and verbal English communication skills (Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is a plus). Preferred /
Desired Qualifications:
Direct experience utilizing QuickBooks (or similar mid-tier accounting ERPs). Prior exposure to project-based accounting, job costing, or design-build/field operations. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills with a track record of meeting strict financial deadlines.
