Dental Harbor by Abby Dew, DDS is seeking an accomplished Dental Billing Coordinator to join our independent, boutique practice on Skidaway Island. Compensation:

$23 - $27 hourly

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do As the primary owner of our billing and insurance functions, you will: Manage dental insurance coding, claim submission, insurance aging, denials, and appeals Ensure claims are accurate, complete, and submitted promptly with appropriate documentation Monitor outstanding insurance claims and proactively resolve unpaid, delayed, or denied claims Receive, process, and accurately post payments from clients and insurance carriers, including authorized adjustments and write-offs Manage accounts receivable and proactively address outstanding client balances Prepare and send client statements and coordinate collection activities Answer client questions regarding insurance benefits, claim status, account balances, and financial responsibility Prepare and communicate financial arrangements clearly and professionally Coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure insurance coverage and benefits are verified before appointments Maintain accurate financial records and protect the confidentiality of client and health information Work collaboratively with our clinical and administrative team to identify and resolve billing or account issues Provide thoughtful, professional service while helping clients understand the financial side of their dental care

Qualifications:

Who We're Looking For The strongest candidates will have: At least three years of dental office experience Advanced knowledge of dental insurance billing, claims processing, payment posting, and accounts receivable A strong understanding of dental terminology, CDT codes, insurance benefits, adjustments, and coordination of benefits Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organization The ability to independently manage priorities and follow issues through to resolution Strong verbal and written communication skills A polished, client-centered approach to financial conversations Sound judgment, integrity, and a genuine sense of ownership for their areas of responsibility A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent Open Dental experience is strongly preferred Experience independently leading insurance and accounts receivable functions in a high-performing dental practice is particularly valuable. This position is best suited for an experienced professional who enjoys making systems work, takes satisfaction in getting the details right, and wants to play an important role in the success of an exceptional, independently owned practice.
