Job Duties:

Responsible for Charge entry and payment posting for claims associated with our ASC Facilities Accurately enter all charges into the billing system, ensuring completeness and correctness of all data received by coding specialist. Understanding different payor guidelines as it pertains to additional add on coding. Prepare and submit billing claims daily to insurance companies via clearinghouse, fax, email or standard mail. Correct/work claim rejections in the clearinghouse. Post both ERA and manual payments, both insurance and patient. Review and analyze any patient overpayments made and their need for refunding. Balance all payment transactions from EMR to daily deposit log. This position will also be cross trained with other positions in the organization to promote better collaboration and teamwork.

Ability to generate, read, interpret, and take action as it relates to basic financial statements, national and state regulations, operational and maintenance and organizational policy/procedures. Ability to run reports, to read and understand insurance correspondences. Ability to effectively communicate. Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships. Ability to work with skill in identifying problems and finding solutions. Ability to adapt, work with many people and have good customer service skills. Ability to answer the phone and transfer phone calls as needed.

Education/Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

1 year experience in Medical Payment Posting and/ or charge entry Required.
