Job Summary The Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing day-to-day medical billing activities, including claims submission, insurance verification, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Review medical records and billing information for accuracy. Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments. Follow up on unpaid, rejected, and denied claims. Investigate billing discrepancies and resolve claim issues promptly. Manage accounts receivable and assist with revenue cycle activities. Communicate professionally with insurance representatives, healthcare providers, and patients. Maintain accurate and confidential patient billing records. Stay informed about applicable insurance policies, billing requirements, and industry procedures. Meet established productivity, accuracy, and quality standards. Qualifications Previous experience in medical billing, healthcare administration, or revenue cycle management. Strong knowledge of medical insurance claims and billing processes. Familiarity with medical billing software, EHR, or practice management systems. Understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes is preferred. Experience with insurance follow-up and denial management is a plus. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
