Position Purpose:

The Billing Specialist is responsible for providing initial and follow-up billing for designated centers to ensure collection or processing of all service events reported to obtain reimbursement. Billing specialist is responsible for

ICD9/ICD10

coding techniques and current practices of the coding guidelines. In-patient and outpatient coding guidelines are to be practiced along with DRG assignment and review.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, RHIT Certification and or Coding Certification Minimum 1 - 2 years in a healthcare organization with focus on billing & coding Ability to apply concepts such as averages, ratios, fractions, and percentages to practical situations Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical/medical/legal information. Ability to respond to routine inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
