The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized codes for billing and documentation purposes. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and billing processes to ensure compliance and optimize revenue cycle management. A valid CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is required to demonstrate expertise in coding standards and practices. Duties Review and interpret medical records, physician notes, and documentation to assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes. Ensure all coding complies with current industry guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements. Submit accurate and timely claims for reimbursement while minimizing errors and denials. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or resolve coding discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of coding activities and updates to ensure audit readiness. Stay current with changes in coding regulations, insurance policies, and healthcare laws through ongoing education. Assist in resolving billing issues related to coding errors or claim denials. Support billing staff by providing precise code assignments necessary for accurate invoicing. Skills CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is required. Ambulatory Surgery Center and Pain Management experience a plus. Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accuracy in code assignment. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation efficiently. Good communication skills for collaboration with healthcare providers and billing teams. Knowledge of current coding guidelines, payer policies, and compliance standards.
