Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, managing billing processes, and ensuring timely submission of insurance claims. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycle management, improve cash flow, and ensure compliance with medical coding guidelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient healthcare operations while working with advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems. Duties Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG codes in accordance with medical coding guidelines. Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with health insurance policies and third-party payer requirements. Manage the entire revenue cycle process from patient registration, insurance verification, to payment posting and follow-up on unpaid claims. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure proper coding for inpatient and outpatient services. Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring all billing data aligns with medical records for audit readiness. Stay current with updates in medical coding standards, health insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance. Assist in resolving billing discrepancies or denials related to insurance claim processing or coding errors. Requirements Proven experience in medical office settings with a strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and billing procedures.
