Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Bossier City, LA. This role is ideal for a medical billing professional who enjoys resolving claims issues, working with insurance payers, and helping ensure accurate reimbursement for healthcare services. The Billing Specialist will support a busy medical billing environment by reviewing rejected claims, researching denials, posting payments, and communicating with insurance companies regarding outstanding accounts. - Review rejected claims for errors, make corrections, and submit claims to payers for reimbursement.
- Receive EOBs, research denial reasons, and resubmit corrected claims as needed.
- Process manual and electronic remittances and post payments to the appropriate accounts.
- Contact insurance companies regarding delinquent accounts and claim status updates.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements and applicable medical billing policies. Compensation and Benefits
Pay:
$17.00 to $18.00 per hour.Job Type:

Bossier City, LA. Required Qualifications and Skills- Review, correct, and resubmit rejected or denied medical claims.
- Process remittances and post payments accurately to patient or payer accounts.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim issues and delinquent accounts.
- Support reporting, billing follow-up, and reimbursement accuracy.
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 2 years of billing experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of office software and office equipment.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to payer, Medicaid, State, or funding source changes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in billing and payment posting.
- Ability to work productively without constant oversight.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information and comply with HIPAA requirements. Preferred Qualifications
- Higher education or additional coursework in healthcare administration, billing, accounting, or a related field.
- Medical billing experience involving claims denials, EOBs, remittance processing, and insurance follow-up.
- Familiarity with Medicaid, payer requirements, or healthcare reimbursement processes.
