Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, where your expertise will drive accurate revenue cycle management and ensure seamless processing of medical claims. In this vital role, you will interpret complex medical documentation, assign appropriate codes, and facilitate efficient billing procedures that support our commitment to exceptional patient care. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help optimize insurance claim processing, reduce denials, and enhance overall financial performance. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about healthcare administration, this opportunity is perfect for you to make a meaningful impact every day. Responsibilities Review and analyze medical records, documentation, and provider notes to accurately assign ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG codes in compliance with medical coding guidelines. Ensure proper coding for outpatient physical and occupational therapy procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems. Process health insurance claims efficiently through third-party billing channels while adhering to insurance policies and health insurance knowledge standards. Manage the entire revenue cycle process—from initial billing to follow-up on unpaid or denied claims—aiming for timely collections and minimized outstanding balances. Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring all coding aligns with current medical terminology standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and improve the accuracy of medical records for billing purposes. Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines such as ICD-10 updates, CPT revisions, and DRG classifications to ensure compliance across all billing activities. Experience Proven experience in medical office settings with a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding practices, and billing procedures. Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for electronic health record management related to billing and coding tasks. Knowledge of health insurance claim processing workflows, including insurance third-party billing and revenue cycle management strategies. Familiarity with ICD coding (including ICD-9 and ICD-10), CPT coding, DRG classification systems, and medical coding guidelines is essential. Demonstrated ability to handle medical collections effectively while maintaining professionalism in communication with insurance companies and patients. Strong understanding of medical records management, health insurance policies, and the intricacies of insurance claim adjudication processes. Certification in Medical Coding (such as CPC or CCS) is preferred but not mandatory; however, comprehensive knowledge of medical coding standards is required for success in this role. Embark on a rewarding career where your skills directly contribute to the efficiency of healthcare delivery! We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values your expertise while supporting your professional growth in the vital field of medical billing and coding.
