Job Description

Join Our Team Reliant Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Representative to join our team. This position is responsible for managing the full billing cycle for infusion and pharmacy claims while ensuring timely, accurate reimbursement and exceptional customer service. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, particularly when posting insurance payments, processing refunds and overpayments, reconciling accounts, and identifying contract variances. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate infusion and pharmacy claims to insurance carriers. Accurately post insurance and patient payments to the appropriate accounts. Review payment details and identify contractual variances, underpayments, overpayments, and posting discrepancies. Research and resolve insurance-related credit balances, refunds, and overpayments. Process refunds to insurance carriers and patients accurately and within required timeframes. Reconcile payments, deposits, adjustments, and account balances. Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and outstanding accounts receivable. Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients and insurance companies with billing questions. Review documentation to ensure medical necessity requirements are met as part of the billing review process with case management. Complete and track insurance audits, responding to requests in a timely manner. Communicate with insurance companies, patients, providers, and internal teams regarding billing issues. Collaborate with case managers to ensure accurate patient cost estimates. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Stay current on payer requirements, billing regulations, and reimbursement guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience. Experience preparing and submitting medical claims to commercial insurance, Medicare, and/or Medicaid. Experience posting insurance payments, reconciling payments, and maintaining accurate billing records. Knowledge of accounts receivable, denials, payment posting, refunds, overpayments, credit balances, and contract variance identification. Strong understanding of insurance regulations, claim resolution, and medical billing processes. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating with a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Preferred Experience with infusion, specialty pharmacy, or outpatient healthcare billing. Experience with R2 billing software or a similar medical billing platform. Familiarity with insurance audits and medical necessity documentation.
