Job Description
This job acts as a supervisor and provider of care at the point of care to individuals and cohorts of patients within a unit. Evaluates nursing interventions by coordinating, delegating and supervising care provided by the healthcare team of licensed nurses, registered nurses, and patient care technicians. Serves as a resource to staff for patient care assessment, planning, and evaluation of nursing interventions and facilitates problem resolution through collaboration with unit leadership and other supervisory staff. In collaboration with the immediate leader and other supervisory staff, identifies staff strengths and weaknesses and evaluating staff performance for team members within their span of control. Education Required
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree Science of Nursing (BSN) required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities. Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in nursing. Experience Required
- 1 year of relevant experience as a registered nurse OR 2 years of experience as an LPN in an acute care setting. Preferred
- 2 years of relevant experience as a registered nurse. Certifications Required
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
