About us As a growing leader in the Durable Medical Equipment industry, Midsouth Medical, Inc., is seeking to add a billing specialist to our team. DME Billing Specialist Individuals will be trained on insurance guidelines for home medical equipment.

Duties:

Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 and HCPCS Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or additional information for billing purposes Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations

Skills:

Proficient in medical billing procedures and terminology Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and other coding systems Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software

Previous experience in the following skills/roles is preferred and beneficial but not required: medical and/or customer service, medical billing, obtaining authorizations, DME, physician office experience and ICD10 knowledge is helpful.
