Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage the full cycle of medical billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submission, and effective follow-up on outstanding accounts. Your expertise will help optimize revenue flow while maintaining excellent patient service standards. Responsibilities Verify patient information and eligibility for coverage Review medical records to ensure accurate documentation for billing purposes Process insurance claims and payments Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes and insurance appeals Respond to billing phone calls and questions Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed for accurate billing Stay updated on health insurance policies, medical terminology, and coding changes to ensure compliance Requirements Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare setting, preferably ophthalmology Strong knowledge of medical coding Familiarity with EMR systems Excellent understanding of healthcare claims management and medical collections procedures Ability to interpret medical records accurately and apply appropriate codes efficiently Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and team members Knowledge of health insurance policies and medical terminology Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values precision, efficiency, and compassionate patient care.
