The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures to support our medical office operations effectively. Paralegals welcome to apply. Will train the right candidate. Duties Process and submit medical claims using appropriate coding systems including DRG, CPT, and ICD-10. Review and verify patient information and insurance details to ensure accuracy in billing. Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Utilize EMR and EHR systems for efficient management of patient data and billing processes. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing or coding. Stay updated on industry changes regarding medical billing practices and coding standards. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related roles within a medical office setting. Proficiency in ICD coding and CPT coding is essential. Familiarity with DRG classifications and their application in billing processes. Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations. Experience with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding billing matters.
