Job Description

Job Summary Ozarks Clean Water Company (OCWC) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Utility Billing & Customer Service Specialist to join our office in Kimberling City. In this role, you will serve as the primary front-office point of contact for customer inquiries, handle daily payment processing, manage monthly utility billing cycles, and coordinate service work orders. This full-time position offers a stable 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday schedule and plays a vital role in keeping our local water and wastewater utility running smoothly for our community. Duties Serve as the primary front-office team member, assisting walk-in customers and answering phone calls with professionalism and clear communication. Manage monthly utility billing cycles using specialized billing software, ensuring accurate customer invoicing and timely account updates. Process daily cash, check, and credit card payments, issue receipts, reconcile daily payment logs, and manage past-due account collections. Receive customer service requests (meter readings, service transfers, billing questions), generate work orders, and coordinate routing with management and maintenance personnel. Maintain accurate customer account records, set up new accounts, process closing requests, and perform data entry in the billing database. Oversee daily incoming/outgoing mail, assemble utility bill mailings, maintain office filing systems, and keep front-office supplies organized. Experience 2+ years of experience in utility billing, bookkeeping, office administration, or high-volume customer service. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and comfort learning specialized utility billing software database platforms. Strong customer service background with excellent phone etiquette and client communication skills. Accurate data entry skills and experience handling cash, check, and electronic financial transactions. High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant administrative coursework preferred.
Pay:
$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
