Overview:

We are a busy, patient centered Primary Care practice seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of insurance guidelines, billing codes and claims submission for family medicine services.

Responsibilities:

• Review and accurately code office visits and procedures (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
• Submit insurance claims electronically and by paper
• Track claims, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and process appeals
• Post payments and reconcile accounts
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Communicate with providers and staff to resolve billing discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with HIPPA and insurance regulations
• Assist patients with billing inquiries professionally and empathetically

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience (Primary Care or Rural Health preferred)
• Proficiency with billing software (e.g. Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar)
• Knowledge of E/M coding, modifiers and claim appeal processes
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or similar certification is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
