Outpatient Mental & Behavioral Health About Divine Wellness Therapeutic Center Divine Wellness Therapeutic Center is a growing outpatient mental health practice serving individuals and families throughout Fayetteville and surrounding communities. Our team is committed to providing high-quality behavioral health services while maintaining efficient, accurate, and ethical administrative and billing practices. We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist who can take ownership of the revenue cycle and help ensure that services provided by our clinicians are billed, followed up on, and reimbursed accurately and timely. Position Overview The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for managing insurance billing and accounts receivable for our behavioral health practice. This position requires someone who is organized, persistent, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating directly with insurance companies to resolve claim and payment issues. This is not simply a data-entry or claim-submission position. We are looking for someone who understands the full billing cycle and can identify problems, investigate them, and follow them through to resolution. Responsibilities Submit accurate and timely electronic and paper insurance claims Review claims for accuracy prior to submission Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims Investigate denials and take appropriate corrective action Correct and resubmit claims when necessary Work insurance accounts receivable and aging reports Contact insurance companies regarding claim status, payment discrepancies, denials, and reimbursement issues Post and reconcile insurance payments, ERAs, and EOBs Identify underpayments and reimbursement discrepancies Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits when needed Monitor prior authorizations, authorization expiration dates, and remaining authorized units Assist with obtaining or tracking behavioral health authorizations as needed Maintain accurate patient insurance and billing information Communicate billing issues to appropriate administrative staff and clinicians Identify recurring billing problems and recommend solutions Maintain detailed documentation of payer communications and claim follow-up Assist with patient balances and billing questions when necessary Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times Complete billing reports and provide updates regarding outstanding claims and revenue-cycle concerns Perform other billing and administrative duties related to the revenue cycle as assignedQualifications Required:
Previous medical billing experience Strong understanding of insurance claims, denials, EOBs/ERAs, and accounts receivable Experience communicating directly with insurance companies Ability to independently research and resolve billing problems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines Comfortable working with electronic health record and practice-management systems Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements Strong written and verbal communication skillsHighly Preferred:
