Medical Billing Specialist - Commercial & Out-of-Network Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Clifton, NJ $26-$30/hr | Pension, 401(k), PTO & More About the Role We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist with strong commercial insurance and out-of-network (OON) billing experience. This role supports high-volume surgical practices specializing in neuro-spine, orthopedics, and podiatry. The ideal candidate has experience with surgical claims, insurance collections, denials, appeals, A/R, and reimbursement negotiations. Responsibilities Manage commercial and out-of-network surgical billing and collections Follow up on unpaid, denied, rejected, and underpaid claims Handle denials, appeals, corrected claims, and payer disputes Review EOBs, fee schedules, and payer policies Manage aged accounts receivable (A/R) Reconcile insurance payments and identify underpayments Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients Maintain accurate billing and collection records Qualifications 5+ years of medical billing and collections experience Commercial insurance billing experience required Out-of-network billing experience strongly preferred Surgical billing experience required or highly preferred Experience with neuro-spine, orthopedic, or podiatry billing preferred Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Experience with denial management, appeals, and insurance follow-up Proficiency with medical billing systems and Microsoft Excel Apply today to get your profile in front of our team.
