Job Description

Overview:
We are looking for an in-person Pre-Billing Support Specialist to join the Community Ambulance team. You will be responsible for handling customer questions, complaints and requests as well as following up with facilities and operations as needed. To be successful in this role, you should be an excellent communicator while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality. The Pre-Billing Support Specialist reports to the Billing Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer customer calls and respond to email inquiries from patients, attorney offices, insurance company and facilities in a timely manner Identify customer needs and provide assistance Assist customers visiting office Process payments over the phone Process incoming correspondence Fulfill medical record requests from patients, attorney offices and insurance companies Make outbound calls to obtain Auto Ins / Work Comp information Call private pay patients to see if they have health insurance coverage. Contact facilities to obtain missing Physician Certification Statements Contact facilities to obtain information for Doe patients Follow up with Operations in regards to missing narratives or addendums needed Track / follow up on missing charts All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Familiarity with the Healthcare industry preferred Familiar with using computers and the Microsoft Office suite Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Thorough with excellent listening skills Patience when handling tough calls Capacity to navigate stressful situations with ease Multi-tasking abilities Ability to adhere to productivity goals and departmental guidelines Demonstrate a strong work ethic and work independently Possess strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements of Job:
Physical Skills:
Normally assigned to work in an office environment where there is little exposure to dust, dirt, and noise. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit; talk and hear; use fingers, hands and arms to handle, reach and/or operate basic office equipment, objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move, with help, up to 100 pounds.
Visual Activity:
Able to see and discriminate detail in written documents and messages from a computer screen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Auditory Activity:
Good skills to distinguish sounds in normal conversation levels.
Sensory Activity:
Normal motor skills required, such as being able to type using a computer keyboard or the ability to drive an automobile.
Verbal Activity:
Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of employees, patients, families, co-workers, and public groups.
