Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Medical Coding and Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the full revenue cycle, including coding and claim submission, with some collections and follow up. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with commercial payers and understands the importance of accuracy, timeliness and persistence in maximizing reimbursement. We are particularly looking for candidates with OB (obstetrics) coding and billing experience and/or plastic surgery billing experience - either specialty is a great fit for this role. Key Responsibilities Code and submit accurate and timely insurance claims (electronic and paper) Perform aggressive claim follow-up and collections with insurance carriers to resolve denials and delays Review and interpret EOBs and ERAs Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, underpayments, and denials Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and appeals Maintain accurate documentation within EMR and billing systems Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure proper coding and documentation Assist with appeals and reconsiderations as needed Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of coding and medical billing experience (required) Must reside on Long Island — this is a fully in-office position (no remote) Strong experience with claims submission and follow-up Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology Experience working with commercial insurance (Aetna, BCBS, etc.) Familiarity with EMR and billing platforms (e.g., Nextech, Trizetto preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Preferred Qualifications ★
