Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a full-time or part-time Billing Clerk, where your attention to detail and passion for accuracy will play a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing medical billing processes, coding claims accurately, and facilitating seamless communication between healthcare providers and insurance companies. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles while delivering exceptional service to patients and providers alike. Duties Prepare and submit healthcare claims using billing software and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Review medical records to ensure proper coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes for accurate billing and reimbursement Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection efforts and healthcare claims management strategies Verify patient insurance information and explain coverage details to ensure clarity and reduce billing errors Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, adjustments, and payments within medical records systems Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding requirements for precise billing Utilize Microsoft Office tools to generate reports, track billing progress, and communicate effectively with team members Requirements Proven experience in medical office administration, medical billing, or related roles with familiarity in EMR/EHR systems Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare claims processes, and health insurance policies Proficiency in medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD
coding standards, and DRG classifications Experience with billing software platforms and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients, providers, and insurance representatives Ability to interpret medical records accurately and apply appropriate coding conventions Knowledge of medical collection procedures and healthcare claims management best practices This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a supportive environment that values accuracy, efficiency, and excellent service.
