We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Specialist to support our billing operations and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing billing practices. This position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate records, processing billing documentation, and supporting reimbursement and claim management activities. Position Summary The Billing Specialist is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and processing records and reports related to DHS billing. This role works closely with program coordinators, nurses, case managers, and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate billing procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Compile and maintain backup documentation required for billing, including: Hour aging reports Allocation of hours Census sheets Mileage sheets Attendance logs Other billing-related spreadsheets Calculate and total service units and associated costs. Process reimbursement requests for employees using personal vehicles to transport individuals. Process approved meal reimbursement requests for employee outings. Assist with researching outstanding, suspended, and unpaid claims. Assist in requesting additional service units when needed. Work with DDS Provider Support and case managers regarding billing and unit-related concerns. Collaborate with Community and Vocational Program Coordinators, nurses, the Community Billing Manager, and other staff concerning billing issues and questions. Assist with client monthly financial transactions, including: Deposits Receipt reconciliation Data entry into applicable systems Serve as backup to the Billing Manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer software. Knowledge of general office procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with multiple departments and team members. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Valid Oklahoma Driver's License required. Minimum one (1) year of experience in general office administration, data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a related field.
