Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Has history of successful employment in an office setting, including use of office machines and computers. 2. Must have typing and word processing skills. 3. Must possess multi-tasking skills. 4. Is a high school graduate or has received a GED certificate. An Associates degree, other college level education or graduation from a business college is preferred. 5. Experience in home health and knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. 6. Has satisfactory employment and personal references. 7. Is self-directed and can work effectively with minimal supervision. 8. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or agency requirements and is in good working order. 9. Other aspects and demands of the job not listed above. Complies with accepted professional standards and principles. 1. Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. 2. Is a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order and has insurance in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements. 3. Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation. 4. Has excellent observation, good clinical judgment, and good oral and written communication skills. 5. Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision; has good organizational skills; and can work cooperatively with others. 6. Has successfully completed Advantage Case Management Orientation.
SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Veterans Services Director is responsible for the overall direction and growth of the Mays Plus Veteran Services Program which includes the Veteran Services (VS) and Veterans Admin Division (VAD) programs in Oklahoma and Texas.
RESPOSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Veteran Services (VS) program functions and works closely with care managers at VS management companies
  • Veterans Care Coordination (VCC) and Veterans Homecare (VHC) for VS members.
Keeps abreast of any changes in the programs that may affect the agency's ability to administer the program for members. a. Receives and monitors new members information, adding it to CRM and distributes new client information and directions to correct office. Discharges members from CRM as necessary. b. Monitors staffing of current members and contacts members personnally when needed for questions, complaints, etc. c. Interacts with VHC and VCC on behalf of members for questions, concerns, etc. d. Reviews monthly invoices for VS members and submits final invoices to Accounts Payable departments at VCC and VHC for agency. Works closely with Billing Department for agency. e. Searches for opportunities to attend veteran events to promote the VS program for continued growth. Works with Sales and Marketing Department. f. Maintains master files of current and discharged VS members. g. Works with agency staff, i.e. Administrators, Regionals, RNs, CSM and office staff regarding issues with VS members. h. Receives referrals from agency CSC department, records in CRM and submits referrals for new members to VHC and VCC. i. Serves as contact point for administrative needs of program, current liability insurance, contracts, etc. and works with supporting departments within Mays. 2. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Veteran Admin Division (VAD) program functions and works closely with care managers at various Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center locations in Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas. Keeps abreast of any changes in the programs that affect the agency's ability to administer the program and provide services for members. a. Retrieves and monitors new and existing members information in the VA's Health Share Referral Manager (HSRM) also known as Community Care Referral and Authorization (CCRA). New members and reauths are added to CRM. Discharges members from CRM as necessary. b. Distributes new client and reauth information and directions to appropriate offices. c. Uploads information to the

website as requested by VA care managers/social workers. d. Notifies appropriate VA location of referrals requesting Community-Based Care services. e. Notifies potential member referees by mail and telephone of potential member's need to followup with their VA social workers to request services with agency. f. Monitors expiration dates of current members services and notifies members and VA locations by mail and telephone. g. Monitors staffing of current members and contacts members personnally when needed for questions, complaints, etc. h. Interacts with care managers at the appropriate VA location on behalf of members for questions, concerns, etc. i. Work closely with Billing Department regarding issues that affect VA billing for agency. j. Searches for opportunities to attend veteran events to promote the VAD program for continued growth. Works with Sales and Marketing Department. k. Maintains master files of current and discharged VAD members. l. Works with agency staff, i.e. Administrators, Regionals, RNs, CSM and office staff regarding issues with VAD members. m. Serves as contact point for administrative needs of program as required, current liability insurance, contracts, etc. and works with supporting departments within Mays. 3. Receives and records in CRM any Central Services Coordination (CSC) Department Referrals for Advantage, DHS, VS, VAD, Private Pay and Texas DADs program. Discharges unqualified referrals. Provides weekly reports to the CSC Department and Mays Plus Administrators. 4. The incumbent of position may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description. 5. Reports direction to the Clinical Administrators, WORKING

Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication. 2. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include moderate lifting and extensive bending and standing. 3. Ability to deal effectively with stress.
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Agency personnel are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate supervisor. In addition, agency personnel are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job related skills and abilities.
