Part-Time West Portland, OR Part-Time:
24 Hours per Week Monday-Thursday | 9:00 AM-3:30 PM We are an established in-home care company seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our office team in West Portland. We are looking for someone who is comfortable managing billing from start to finish , including insurance billing, private-pay and local accounts, accounts receivable, collections, and payroll support. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, computer savvy, and comfortable researching billing issues and following up on unpaid or rejected claims. Previous billing experience in home healthcare, home care, or a similar healthcare setting is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Complete accurate and timely weekly billing for in-home care services Submit and manage billing for Medicaid MMIS, CHAMPS/VA, long-term care insurance, SAIF, private insurance, and private-pay accounts Review rejected and denied claims, research issues, make corrections, and resubmit claims Follow accounts through the billing process to ensure timely payment Monitor accounts receivable and work to keep outstanding balances current Make collection calls and send payment communications to clients and facilities Manage billing for private-pay and local accounts Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, clients, and contracted partners to resolve billing issues Process hourly payroll for field employees, including nurses and care aides Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets and reports Provide billing and account information to management and contracted partners Maintain accurate and confidential client and financial records Assist with answering office phones during busy periods Qualifications Previous medical billing experience required Experience with home healthcare or in-home care billing strongly preferred Knowledge of medical billing, coding, and terminology Experience with accounts receivable and collections Experience with private-pay accounts Payroll processing experience Proficiency with Excel Comfortable working with EHR systems and other billing software Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and follow through on outstanding billing issues Ability to maintain strict confidentiality High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Experience Experience with one or more of the following is especially valuable: Medicaid
