SALARY:
$28/hr.
LOCATION
Portland, OR
SCHEDULE
Full-time; Monday-Friday | 7:00am-4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm

Play a key role in protecting revenue by ensuring detention charges are accurately identified, billed, and collected.

Collaborate with drivers, dispatch, fleet operations, customer service, and customers to solve problems and keep freight billing moving.

Develop hands-on experience in transportation billing, accessorial charges, revenue recovery, and transportation management systems in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Review driver, dispatch, customer, and load documentation to identify detention events, verify eligibility, and confirm billable time in accordance with company policies and customer contracts.

Prepare, submit, track, and reconcile detention claims, invoices, and billing adjustments through customer portals, email, transportation management systems, and accounting software.

Coordinate with dispatch, fleet management, drivers, customer service, and customers to obtain missing documentation, resolve discrepancies and disputes, and follow claims through approval, denial, or payment.

Maintain accurate detention records and reporting, support accounts receivable follow-up and month-end close, and ensure approved detention charges are billed timely, accurately, and to the appropriate accounts and revenue categories.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing, data entry, documentation review, and reconciliation of transportation-related charges.

Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies, interpret supporting documentation, and resolve billing exceptions or disputes.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced transportation environment, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.

Strong communication and customer-service skills, with working knowledge of accessorial billing, freight invoicing, driver logs, GPS tracking, ELD records, and transportation management systems preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role is primarily office-based and requires extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, reviewing documentation, and using standard office equipment. Employees must be able to communicate effectively, maintain focus for extended periods, and occasionally move or handle files and office materials as needed.
