Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team on-site at our Portland office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our practice while providing excellent support to both patients and healthcare providers. Responsibilities Verifying patient eligibility for Durable Medical Equipment. Communicating with Priority's regional team of diabetic shoe specialists to answer and resolve insurance coverage questions. Reviewing and entering insurance information into the system, obtaining prior authorizations, resolving discrepancies, and communicating with clinical and administrative staff. Have a strong understanding of medical insurance policies, excellent attention to detail, and outstanding communication and customer service skills. Other duties as assigned. Skills Proficient in medical billing processes, including medical collections and coding practices. Experience with EMR systems and EHR systems is preferred. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. Previous medical office experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with healthcare operations.
