In this role, you will be instrumental in translating clinical procedures into precise billing codes, managing medical claims, and facilitating seamless communication between providers, insurance companies, and patients. Responsibilities Review dental procedures and translate them into appropriate billing codes using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding standards. Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using advanced billing software and EMR/EHR systems to ensure timely reimbursement. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies and healthcare claims management. Maintain comprehensive medical records and documentation, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and coding guidelines. Communicate proactively with insurance providers, patients, and team members to resolve billing issues promptly. Stay updated on changes in health insurance policies, medical coding standards, and billing best practices to optimize revenue cycle management. Assist in training staff on medical terminology, medical records management, and the use of billing software to foster a knowledgeable team environment. Experience Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare or dental setting, with a focus on dental procedures preferred. Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, ICD coding, and DRG classification systems. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems not required we can train within, Microsoft Office applications, and specialized billing software. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare claims management processes and health insurance policies. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to patients and insurance representatives. Prior experience working with dental/medical terminology, dental/medical records management, and medical collection procedures is highly desirable. Ability to adapt quickly to evolving healthcare regulations and maintain meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of billing.
