This position is responsible for accurate and timely billing, payment posting, account reconciliation, and collection-related activities while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in healthcare billing, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote environment.
Position Details Full-Time, Remote Position Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM This position is available for full-time employment only. Applicants seeking part-time employment will not be considered. Responsibilities Support the day-to-day billing and accounting functions of the organization. Accurately prepare, process, and maintain billing and accounting documentation. Record payments received and post payments to the appropriate resident accounts. Review invoices for accuracy, including quantities, unit pricing, extensions, and applicable discounts. Match invoices with corresponding purchase orders and supporting documentation. Code invoices using the appropriate chart of accounts to ensure expenses are allocated correctly. Process and verify invoices for timely payment. Route invoices to appropriate department personnel for review and approval. Identify and report discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation. Verify voucher reports, remittance advice, checks, journals, and related reports for accuracy. Maintain organized and accurate records of paid and outstanding invoices. Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding invoice discrepancies, errors, or questions. Prepare monthly reports and totals related to open invoices, accounts payable, cash disbursements, and other financial activity as requested. Assist with maintaining accounting systems, policies, and procedures consistent with organizational and long-term care requirements. Maintain confidentiality of resident, financial, and organizational information. Perform additional billing and accounting duties as assigned by the Director of Accounts Receivable.. Experience Previous experience in medical billing, healthcare billing, accounts receivable, or a related healthcare administrative role is strongly preferred. Experience within skilled nursing, long-term care, or another healthcare setting is preferred. Knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance processes, claims management, and medical terminology. Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and interpret billing and financial information accurately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with facilities, residents, responsible parties, insurance representatives, vendors, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive financial and healthcare information. Comfortable working independently and maintaining productivity in a fully remote work environment.
