Job Description
Job Profile:
A private hospitalist group is seeking an experienced medical Billing Specialist to be part of their growing and dynamic team. You will be responsible for handling patient payment postings, A/R and insurance follow up. You will be working in a hybrid environment, and in a part time capacity (10 to 20 hrs / week). Candidate MUST be able to work per diem hours, flexible between 8am and 4pm, Mon to Fri. Candidate must be able to hit the ground running and contribute to a small, yet mighty billing team.Responsibilities may include:
Prepare and submit billing charges and medical claims to insurance companies independently Must be able to commute to, and train and / or work at Princeton office as required Ensure the patient's demographics and insurance information is accurate and up to date using various hospital portals Collect daily mail, sort and prepare checks from patients and insurance companies for deposit to the bank Post payments to patient accounts from insurance companies and patients Run daily batch reports to ensure appropriate and accurate payments applied in billing system Follow-up on missed payments from insurance companies and patient accounts. Send medical records from various hospital's when requested from insurance companies/providers Investigate and appeal denied claims Answer patient calls, assist with questions, and take payment via credit card portal Send email, fax updates to insurance, hospitals and physicians, as required Other duties as requiredRequirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Medical Biller or similar role, handling Medicare and other major insurance companies. Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records. Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities. Knowledge of CPT and ICD'10 codes. Understanding of / trained in HIPAA compliance, and able to handle PII and PCI data. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of timely and effective collection on A/Rs. They should work well in a small team environment, with minimal supervision and training. Salary is hourly, and commensurate with experience. No benefits for part - time role.Pay:
