Billing Specialist
Overview
- The Billing Specialist role involves preparing accurate and compliant invoices for government contracts.
- This is a hybrid position with two days onsite and three days remote work weekly.
- The position is contract-based with potential for extension or full-time conversion.
- Candidates should have expertise in government contract compliance and ERP systems.
- The role requires collaboration with project managers, finance teams, and auditors.
- Start date is immediate, with a focus on delivering high-quality billing services.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or green card holders.
- The role offers exposure to FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific regulations.
- Prepare invoices for various government contract types, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Reconcile labor, costs, and indirect burdens, and submit invoices through government systems.
- Maintain detailed billing files and audit-ready documentation for reviews and audits.
- Generate AR aging reports and support collections efforts as required.
- Coordinate with AP, payroll, and subcontract management for accurate cost flow.
- Validate billable costs and funding status with project managers.
- Communicate with contracting officers and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues.
- Ensure invoices meet formatting, documentation, and approval requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of billing experience in government contracting or professional services.
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and understanding of indirect rate structures.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
