Job Description Description Billing/Follow-Up Specialist - Professional Billing (PB) Full Time | 1.00 FTE | Day Shift |
Remote Salary Range:
$19.62 - $29.44 per hour The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Remote Work Requirements:
This is a remote position. Candidates must reside and perform work within Oregon, Washington or Alaska. Help patients navigate billing challenges by ensuring claims are processed accurately and follow-up is completed thoroughly. Join a stable healthcare organization where your expertise directly contributes to the financial health of the communities we serve. What You'll Do In this role, follow-up is the key to success. You'll work from established work queues, investigate outstanding accounts, communicate with insurance companies and patients, and help ensure claims are resolved correctly the first time whenever possible. Key Responsibilities Review outstanding accounts and prioritize follow-up activities. Contact insurance carriers regarding unpaid, delayed, or denied claims. Research claim denials and determine the root cause of payment delays. Resolve billing issues and identify the best path toward claim payment. Partner with patients, insurance representatives, coding teams, and internal stakeholders to obtain needed information. Document account activity thoroughly and accurately. Submit appeals and supporting documentation when appropriate. Monitor assigned work queues and maintain productivity expectations. Identify recurring trends and opportunities for process improvement. Help support workflow enhancements and operational efficiencies within Professional Billing. Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, payors, and colleagues. Maintain compliance with payer guidelines, contracts, and organizational policies. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate Degree preferred Experience Two (2) years of billing, insurance follow-up, revenue cycle, or related healthcare financial experience required Formal medical billing coursework or training from an accredited program may be considered in lieu of experience.
