Position Summary The Home Health Care Biller is responsible for submitting and managing home health claims, following up on outstanding accounts receivable, researching claim denials, and ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing requirements. The ideal candidate has experience in home health billing and is knowledgeable about Medicare regulations, managed care plans, and insurance reimbursement processes. Responsibilities Submit electronic UB-04 home health claims accurately and timely. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims. Investigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment variances. Prepare and submit appeals and reconsideration requests with supporting documentation. Verify insurance eligibility and payer requirements. Review remittance advice (ERAs/EOBs) and post payments accurately. Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement issues. Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, PDGM, and payer-specific billing guidelines. Work closely with clinical and intake teams to resolve documentation issues affecting billing. Meet productivity goals while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Qualifications Required Minimum of 2 years of home health billing experience . Experience billing Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial insurance . Strong knowledge of
PDGM , UB-04
billing, NOA requirements, and home health reimbursement. Experience working claim denials and insurance appeals. Familiarity with electronic billing systems and clearinghouses. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently. Preferred Experience with WellSky or other home health EMR systems. Experience with Waystar or other electronic claim submission platforms. Knowledge of Illinois Medicaid and managed care organizations. $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
