In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, managing billing processes, and ensuring seamless revenue cycle management. Your expertise will help optimize insurance claim submissions, improve cash flow, and support the delivery of high-quality patient care. ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT
(Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes to medical records based on detailed review of clinical documentation. Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with medical coding guidelines. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, verifying that all necessary documentation supports billed procedures and diagnoses. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with third-party payers and health insurance companies to facilitate timely payment. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, insurance claims, payments, and adjustments within the revenue cycle management system. Stay current with evolving medical coding standards, including
ICD-10/ICD-9
updates, CPT coding changes, and health insurance claim processing requirements. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and ensure proper coding for inpatient services and outpatient procedures. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management. Proficiency in billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and electronic health record management for billing and coding purposes. Knowledge of medical coding guidelines for inpatient services, outpatient procedures, and diagnostic coding including
ICD-10/ICD-9/DRG
classifications. Familiarity with health insurance policies, third-party billing processes, revenue cycle management, and insurance claim processing. Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex clinical documentation accurately. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict deadlines.
