Twin Cities Eye Consultants is looking for an experienced Medical Billing & Claims Specialist to join our team. You'll work with claims, denials, accounts receivable, payment posting, and patient billing questions—all while having the flexibility of working primarily from home. We're looking for someone who knows medical billing, pays attention to the details, and is comfortable digging into an account and following it through to resolution. What You'll Be Doing As part of our billing team, you'll help keep accounts accurate and claims moving.

Your responsibilities will include:

Work insurance aging queues and follow up on unpaid or denied claims Research rejected claims, correct errors, and resubmit claims for processing Prepare and submit corrected claims and insurance appeals Answer patient calls and assist with billing questions and concerns Help patients understand their balances and financial responsibility Partner with coding staff to resolve coding questions and request corrections when needed Post and reconcile insurance payments as needed Review and balance accounts receivable Prepare and mail itemized patient receipts Monitor and submit manual claims as needed Maintain accurate account documentation and follow issues through resolution Complete other responsibilities related to the role as assigned

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED At least one year of medical insurance billing or healthcare billing-support experience At least six months of customer service experience Strong computer, data-entry, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Clear, professional, and patient-focused communication skills Ability to work independently, stay organized, and remain productive in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working rejected, denied, or unpaid claims Familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance processes Basic accounting or reconciliation experience Experience in ophthalmology or another healthcare specialty Why Twin Cities Eye Consultants?
