Job Description

A fast-growing physician's office in Texas is looking for a full-time Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. This key position works all facets of our revenue cycle management - medical billing, claim submission, denial appeals, resolving unpaid medical claims, charge entry, fee schedule management and collections. The candidate will be working closely with the Practice Manager to contribute to the overall growth of the practice. This is a career-oriented position with room for growth and development. The opportunity is perfect for someone that enjoys being challenged and working closely with providers in a fast-paced environment. This is an on-site medical billing position that is based in Kyle, TX. Please note - working in person at our Kyle, TX clinic is a requirement of this role, remote applicants will not be considered for this role.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working in a medical facility Excellent Customer Service skills Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to learn Must be organized, efficient, and have great critical thinking skills as well as an investigational attitude Knowledge of third party payers, HMOs, PPOs, Medicare, Medicaid, Worker's Compensation, etc Knowledge and previous experience of CPT, ICD-10, code modifiers, and HCPCS codes. Knowledge of ERAs, EOBs Knowledge of payer specific/LCD guidelines Understanding of health plan benefits (deductibles, copays, coinsurance) and eligibility verification Specialty billing experience a plus Excellent computer and telephone skills Excellent communication skills Detail oriented Understanding of insurance plans Understanding of basic accounting Other duties as assigned This position is subject to a pre-employment background and toxicology screen.
