POSITION SUMMARY
The RCM Billing Specialist is responsible for assisting in the areas of charge entry, coding, and eligibility. In addition, this position will support the flow of patient care by providing excellent and efficient billing, coding, and compliance with regulations. Communication with staff, payors, and patients is paramount in this position, ensuring that the billing needs of all departments are met effectively and efficiently. This is a remote position, and worker location must be within Unio Health Partners authorized states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, ID, IA, IL, MI, NV, NM, OH, OR, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA and WI What you will be doing Manage and monitor all billing processes, ensuring accurate submission of claims, and facilitating reimbursement for healthcare services. Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Investigate and accurately clear all edits and claims rejections to ensure a maximum clean claim rate. Maintain required billing records, reports, files, faxes etc. Review outstanding charges and take appropriate action. Receive and review charge documents for accuracy and enter charges into practice management system. Assign appropriate diagnostic codes to patient charts and reports to include proper prioritization for coding to maximum reimbursement. Extract information from medical records, operative notes, hospital admissions, consults, progress notes and discharges. Track clinic, ASC, and hospital billing to include specialty services, compile information and complete a daily reconciliation on visits and charges. Ensure healthcare providers receive timely and accurate payments for their services, contributing to the overall efficiency of the revenue cycle. What you will bring to the team High school diploma or GED certificate required. Medical Billing Training Certificate preferred. 2+ years of medical billing and collections experience in healthcare setting. CPC Coder Certification through AAPC highly preferred Radiation Oncology billing experience highly preferred Knowledge of billing practices, charge entry and clinic operating policies and procedures. Knowledge of CPT and
ICD9/ICD-10
