Medical Billing Specialist Neurosurgical Associates, P.C. - 3.8 Knoxville, TN Job Details Full-time 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Computer operation Customer communication Medical collection Medical billing Desktop applications Organizational skills Medical terminology Medical debt collection accounts Collections account management Patient collections management Full Job Description Responsibilities for Medical Billing Specialist Process and manage patient insurance claims - to include Resolving insurance denials and rejections in a timely manner Follow up on all correspondence associated with assigned accounts, including EOB's and documentation letters, and generate correspondence requesting required information Document work in progress on the accounts Resolve any issues relating to the patient account - to include Identifying and updating incomplete or missing information on patient account Attention to detail with accurate entry of patient demographics, e.g. payer ids, patient addresses, phone numbers, etc. Answer any questions a patient may have about their account Collect payments from patients for processing Assist patients with terms for repayment structures Explain insurance benefits to patients Routing and communicating incoming consults to appropriate Providers Perform other office duties as assigned Qualifications for Medical Billing Specialist Require 1 years experience in medical billing and collections Proficient in medical software and technology, preferably Allscripts Good with Microsoft Office applications Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong understanding of calculations and medical terminology Proven analytical and problem-solving skills High time management and organizational skills Ability to sit in front of a computer for long hours every day
