Healthcare Billing Specialist Location:
Oak Ridge, TN Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30
PM Assignment Length:
6+ months with strong potential for permanent hire Join a respected behavioral healthcare organization as a Healthcare Billing Specialist . This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant medical billing operations while supporting clients, providers, and third-party payors.
Responsibilities:
Process medical claims and billing activities in a behavioral healthcare environment. Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims. Work directly with patients and third-party payors to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate reimbursement. Manage accounts receivable and perform collection activities to maintain target balance goals. Maintain detailed billing records and ensure compliance with payer guidelines and HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the billing and financial services team to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of medical billing, hospital billing, or claims processing experience. Strong data entry, claims submission, and follow-up experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented, accurate, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently. 6 months Medical Billing experience
