Job Description

Properly coding services, procedures, diagnoses, and treatments. Correcting rejected claims. Tracking payments. Following up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding bills. Communication skills with patients/healthcare companies.
Understanding of primary code classifications:
ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS. Knowledge of unfair debt collection practices and insurance guidelines. Proficiency with computers and medical billing software. Review patient information and translate services into correct codes. Complete many given tasks in a single day. Obtaining useful information from the patient's medical records. Checking documents to ensure they are free of typos and grammatical problems before submitting them. Ensuring that the medical information on the patient is always correct and up to date.
