Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire billing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards, and providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our billing operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where precision and efficiency are valued. Duties Prepare, verify, and issue accurate invoices and claims based on services rendered or contracts. Submit claims to insurance providers and clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete. Post and reconcile all incoming payments (checks, credit cards, ACH, and insurance payouts) daily. Monitor accounts receivable and contact clients or insurance carriers regarding overdue balances. Review claim denials or billing discrepancies and file appeals when necessary. Maintain organized and confidential billing records using QuickBooks, Epic, or advanced EMR systems Address and resolve patient/client billing inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on billing or bookkeeping Knowledge of [industry-specific requirements, e.g., ICD-10/CPT coding, Medicaid/Medicare guidelines, or standard invoicing]. Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation. Experience working with multiple accounting software tools like QuickBooks, Sage, or similar programs. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation. Ability to interpret complex financial data while maintaining high levels of confidentiality. Strong communication skills for customer service interactions with vendors and internal teams. Knowledge of governmental accounting standards or non-profit accounting is a plus but not required. Pay:
