In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire billing process, ensuring accurate coding, submission of claims, and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycle management while providing excellent service to patients and healthcare providers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient healthcare claims management and support the financial health of our organization. Duties Review and verify medical documentation to ensure accurate coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) codes. Prepare and submit healthcare claims electronically through billing software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, perform collections, and resolve billing discrepancies with insurance companies and patients. Maintain detailed records of medical billing activities, including payment postings, adjustments, and correspondence. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing information and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay updated on changes in health insurance policies, coding guidelines, and billing regulations to ensure accurate claim submissions. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing and insurance coverage promptly and professionally. Skills Strong knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, ICD
coding, and DRG classifications. Proficiency in medical billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Google Suite. Experience in healthcare claims management, medical collection processes, and health insurance procedures. Ability to analyze complex medical bills and insurance policies to resolve discrepancies efficiently. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
