Overview We're looking for a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, where your expertise will drive accurate revenue cycle management and ensure seamless insurance claim processing. Duties Accurately assign ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and DRG codes for services following current medical coding guidelines. Review and interpret medical records, documentation, and reports to ensure proper coding for billing purposes. Process health insurance claims using advanced billing software and electronic health record (EHR/EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with third-party payer requirements. Manage the revenue cycle by submitting claims, following up on unpaid or denied claims, and performing medical collections when necessary. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to facilitate smooth claim processing and reduce claim rejections. Maintain detailed records of medical coding activities, claim submissions, adjustments, and payments for audit readiness. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and ensure accurate coding for both inpatient and outpatient services. Qualifications Proven experience in medical office settings with a strong understanding of medical terminology, records management, and billing procedures. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems, billing software, and electronic health record management for billing and coding tasks.
