Full Job Description Key Responsibilities Claim Submission:
Prepare and submit clean medical claims to private and government insurance payers electronically or paper submission
Claims Review:
Audit and reconcile billing reports and patient data to verify accuracy before submission.
Denials Management:
Investigate, troubleshoot, and appeal rejected or denied claims with insurance companies.
Payment Posting:
Post patient and insurance payments, adjustments, and EOBs (Explanations of Benefits) to accounts.
Patient Communication:
Answer patient inquiries regarding balances, copays, deductibles, and set up payment plans. Additional Skills Strong communication, including writing, speaking and active listening Great customer service skills, including interpersonal conversation, patience and empathy Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills In-depth knowledge of industry best practices Basic math, bookkeeping and accounting skills Organization, time management and prioritization abilities Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of patient or customer information Effective computer skills to input to for account management software in a timely and efficient manner Understanding of industry-specific policies, such as HIPAA regulations for health care Prepare bank deposits to bank Perform insurance verifications Collect co-pays, deductibles and inquire on previous balances Maintain documentation in EMR system Keep area neat and tidy at all times Copy medical information as requested following proper procedures Cross train to perform administrative duties when needed Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance Assist with other duties as assigned
