The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accurately processing medical billing, including Accounts Receivable, Posting handling insurance claims, maintaining compliance with medical coding standards such as ICD-10, and resolving billing denials. The role also includes working with Medicare claims, managing payments, and ensuring timely reimbursement while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Enter charges (CPT, ICD-10, modifiers) and submit claims Ensure coding and documentation meet ICD-10, CPT, and payer guidelines Prepare, review, and submit claims to insurance carriers Post insurance & patient payments (ERA/EOB) Work AR (30/60/90+) and follow up with payers via portals like Availity Essentials Resolve denials, underpayments, and submit appeals Ensure timely filing (avoid PTF issues) Maintain accurate notes in CGM Medisoft or similar system Coordinate with front desk, verification, and clinical teams Research unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as needed Identify and report trends to prevent future denials Provide updates on billing status and any related issues Answer phone calls and back up team members as requested Maintain HIPAA compliance Experience must include: Proven experience in accounts receivable management within a corporate or healthcare setting is required including 2+ years medical billing, A/R and posting experience Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of

CPT, ICD-10

medical coding and modifiers Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills Proficiency in handling Insurance claims and Medicare billing processes Experience managing claim Denials and resolving billing discrepancies Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in billing processes Organizational and time management skills Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical billing or coding is preferred Excellent analysis skills combined with problem-solving capabilities are critical for success in this role. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation tasks are required.
