Uvalde, Texas Job Type:
Full-Time Make a Difference Every Day At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, accurate and timely billing is essential to both patient satisfaction and the success of our care delivery. As a Clinic Payment Entry Clerk, you'll play a key role in ensuring payments are posted correctly and clinic revenue remains accurate and reliable. Your attention to detail and strong communication skills will help maintain financial integrity while supporting patients through every step of their billing journey.
In This Role, You Will:
Post patient and insurance payments—including ERAs, EOBs, and personal payments—to the appropriate accounts in the billing system. Reconcile daily payment batches and verify all deposits align with system records. Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments in collaboration with the billing team. Maintain organized records of all posted transactions and support month-end reporting and reconciliation. Respond to internal and external inquiries, assist patients with billing questions, and ensure a positive experience. Adhere to HIPAA and hospital confidentiality standards while handling sensitive financial data. Assist with audits, documentation requests, and billing team support as needed.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. 1+ year of experience in healthcare payment posting or billing (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing systems such as Meditech and Quadax. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service abilities. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
