You'll be responsible for accurately submitting and managing medical claims, monitoring reimbursement, resolving denials, and maintaining compliance with practice billing guidelines and insurance requirements. You'll work closely with insurance companies, patients, clinical staff, and fellow billing team members to resolve account issues accurately and efficiently. Experience with dermatology billing and coding is especially valuable, including familiarity with both medical and cosmetic services. What You'll Do Prepare and submit accurate medical claims and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable Review EOBs/ERAs, insurance payments, and adjustments to ensure reimbursement aligns with contracted rates Post patient and insurance payments, contractual adjustments, and other account activity accurately Research denied, rejected, or underpaid claims and pursue corrections, reconsiderations, or appeals as appropriate Follow up with insurance companies to resolve unpaid claims, payment discrepancies, and other reimbursement issues Transfer balances to patient responsibility when appropriate and generate patient statements Respond professionally to patient billing questions and assist with account resolution Maintain accurate account documentation and follow established billing procedures and compliance requirements Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and the billing team to resolve billing issues and support timely reimbursement

What We're Looking For Required:

High school diploma or equivalent Strong basic math skills and attention to detail Sound critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities Excellent organizational and analytical skills Professional, effective communication A commitment to providing exceptional customer service Ability to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team

Preferred:

Dermatology billing experience Medical billing and/or coding certification, or at least two years of college coursework Five or more years of medical office experience Experience working with insurance claims, denials, payment posting, and accounts receivable

Compensation & Benefits Pay:

$25.42-$31.75 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
