Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage the entire revenue cycle process, ensuring accurate and timely billing, coding, and claims submission. Your expertise will help optimize financial performance while maintaining compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient healthcare delivery through precise records management and effective communication with insurance providers and patients. Duties Review and verify medical records, clinical documentation, and coding accuracy to ensure proper billing and reimbursement. Prepare and submit claims electronically using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Medical Office Software. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by investigating discrepancies, appealing denials, and resubmitting claims as necessary. Maintain comprehensive records of billing activities, patient accounts, and insurance correspondence in accordance with healthcare privacy protection policies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation requirements and ensure compliance with health regulation policies. Monitor the revenue cycle from patient registration through payment posting, identifying opportunities for process improvements. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding billing statements and explaining medical charges clearly. Qualifications Experience in medical office administration or medical billing, with familiarity in health information management practices. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (ICD, CPT), and health information regulatory compliance standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, EHR/EMR systems, and other healthcare software tools used for records management. Understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare privacy protection laws such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. Pay:
$21.50 - $23.50 per hour
