We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to manage our revenue cycle management (RCM) process. You will ensure the financial health of the practice by handling everything from initial charge entry to final payment reconciliation. Apox. Hours Mon-Thur 8-5, Friday 8-12

General Job Duties:

Charge Capture & Coding:

Review patient charts for accuracy, ensuring correct CPT and ICD-10 codes are used for medical and cosmetic procedures.

Claims Submission:

Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance providers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers.

Insurance Verification:

Confirm patient eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations before procedures to prevent denials.

Denial Management:

Research and resolve claim rejections, filing timely appeals and correcting billing issues with insurance representatives.

Payment Posting :

Record insurance and patient payments, reconcile daily deposits, and manage accounts receivable aging reports.

Portal Management & Compliance:

Actively navigate and monitor various electronic insurance portals to track claim status, update provider credentials, and stay informed on ever-changing payer policies and requirements

Patient Communication:

Act as the main point of contact for billing inquiries, setting up payment plans and resolving disputes with a customer-friendly approach.

Requirements Experience:

1-2 years of medical billing experience preferred, ideally within a dermatology or surgical setting.

Software:

Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and practice management systems (experience with systems like Modernizing Medicine is a plus).

Skills:

Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and complex reimbursement procedures.
