Germantown Mutual Insurance Company is looking to add a Customer Service Billing Specialist to its team!

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Customer Service Billing Specialist, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial operations of the Company by processing premium payments, maintaining accurate billing records, and providing exceptional service to insureds, agents, and mortgage companies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and helping customers while ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. You'll work closely with teammates across Accounting and Underwriting to help deliver an outstanding customer experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Process Billing & Payment Transactions Receive and process premium payments through telephone, mail, lockbox, agency sweep, and electronic payment systems Handle new business cash, complete daily cash balancing, and reconcile premium receivables Research and resolve payment discrepancies, returned items, and posting issues Maintain accurate billing records and payment documentation Deliver Exceptional Customer Service Respond to billing inquiries from insureds, agents, mortgage companies, and banking partners via phone, email, and written correspondence Resolve payment-related questions promptly and professionally while providing an exceptional customer experience Build positive relationships through responsive, courteous service Support the Accounting Team Collaborate with Accounting, Underwriting, and other departments to ensure efficient billing operations Assist with department projects, process improvements, and special assignments Contribute to the accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement of the Company's billing processes
WHAT YOU BRING
Excellent customer service and communication skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities Sound problem-solving and analytical abilities High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) Experience using billing or accounting software is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred Two to four years of accounting, billing, customer service, or related experience preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily office-based with regular use of computers, phones, and other office equipment Occasional lifting or moving of files and office materials up to 25 pounds
